Butchillas

A unique Caviteño delicacy, Butchillas are tiny fried dough balls, crispy on the outside and soft inside, often served as a delightful snack or dessert.

Ingredients:

Procedure:

  1. In a bowl, mix the powdered milk and condensed milk then stir.
  2. Pour the mixture in the cookware, stir and add butter.
  3. Continue stirring and cook for about 2 to 4 mins until slightly thickened.
  4. Set aside and let it cool
Dough
  1. Dissolve the sugar to the water.
  2. Then add the glutinous rice flour. Slightly add water and mix
  3. Cut the dough into pieces. Slightly flatten the dough and put the 1 tbsp. of filling inside and make sure you sealed it properly.
  4. Put the butchillas to the boiling water and cooked for about 5 mins in medium heat.
  5. After cooking, roll the butchillas to the shredded coconut and serve.
